Module Overview

Rabies prevention and control is vital when carrying out RCCE Interventions for Rabies at community level. It is a very important module for health professionals.

Participants will acquire skills and competencies to analyze a disease outbreak, apply the science & epidemiological knowledge in the prevention, detection and response to  Rabies using a One Health Approach and gender aspects. Detect Rabies in humans and Animals to institute prevention and control measures and report the disease timely to the rightful audience with confidence for immediate action/response.

Module Objective

To provide participants with the ability to integrate the one health approach principles and practices in Rabies prevention and control.

Module Learning Outcomes

By the end of this module training, participants will be able to:

  • i)      Support community interventions in Rabies prevention and control.
  • ii)    Prevent, detect and respond to Rabies outbreak using a One Health Approach and gender aspects.
  • iii)   Institute prevention, control and treatment measures at community and individual level for Rabies.
  • iv)   Initiate immediate action/response measures at community level.
