The launch of AFROHUN One Health Academy in November 2024 heralds a new era in One Health education. Our inaugural offerings include a Post-Graduate Diploma in Pandemic Preparedness and Response with a One Health Approach, and an Undergraduate Bachelor’s Degree in Health Informatics. These programs, alongside specialized post-graduate certificates such as the Post-Graduate Certificate in Transboundary Risk Communication and Community Engagement (TD-RCCE), provide a flexible, modular education tailored to the needs of both professionals and students.

AFROHUN One Health Academy is about more than just education; it’s about actionable impact. Our boots-on-ground, mentored experiential learning and training approach ensures that participants not only learn the theory but also apply it in real-world settings to develop solutions. This approach is essential in tackling the complex challenges of our time, including global health security, climate change, and biodiversity erosion.

AFROHUN One Health Academy proudly identifies as Pan-African while operating with a global perspective. We are committed to delivering transformative One Health workforce training and Science, Technology, and Innovation (STI) services to Africa and beyond. Our programs are designed to build a resilient, health-secure world, with Africa leading global health innovation.

As we embark on this new journey, we do so with pride in our achievements and a deep commitment to the future. AFROHUN One Health Academy is more than an educational institution; it is a pledge to creating a better, safer world. With the backing of our global partners, we are ready to make a lasting impact on global health security and sustainable development.

Starting in November 2024, we will launch a series of transformative training programs designed to address the critical challenges of our time. African People, Culture, and One Health Risk Communication Assessment

Africa is a continent with multi-ethnic nation groups and diverse cultures that shape the norms (gender, rites of passage, beliefs and values) and practices of the society. To effectively communicate and engage with communities, it’s imperative to understand their cultures, beliefs, gender norms and practices.

This module is designed to equip participants with knowledge, skills, attitudes, and values in understanding the diverse African cultures, traditions, and social structures, and how they intersect with health beliefs and practices that impact on rabies and COVID-19 prevention and control. The module briefly introduces the concepts of Culture, One health, RCCE and their application in the African cultural context.

Earn a certificate upon completion and take a step towards your RCCE certification! Open to learners of all levels.
