AFROHUN One Health Academy is about more than just education; it’s about actionable impact. Our boots-on-ground, mentored experiential learning and training approach ensures that participants not only learn the theory but also apply it in real-world settings to develop solutions. This approach is essential in tackling the complex challenges of our time, including global health security, climate change, and biodiversity erosion.
AFROHUN One Health Academy proudly identifies as Pan-African while operating with a global perspective. We are committed to delivering transformative One Health workforce training and Science, Technology, and Innovation (STI) services to Africa and beyond. African People, Culture, and One Health Risk Communication Assessment
Africa is a continent with multi-ethnic nation groups and diverse cultures that shape the norms (gender, rites of passage, beliefs and values) and practices of the society. To effectively communicate and engage with communities, it’s imperative to understand their cultures, beliefs, gender norms and practices.
This module is designed to equip participants with knowledge, skills, attitudes, and values in understanding the diverse African cultures, traditions, and social structures, and how they intersect with health beliefs and practices that impact on rabies and COVID-19 prevention and control. The module briefly introduces the concepts of Culture, One health, RCCE and their application in the African cultural context.
Earn a certificate upon completion and take a step towards your RCCE certification! Open to learners of all levels.
