AFROHUN One Health Academy serves as the educational and scientific arm of the Africa One Health University Network (AFROHUN), a dynamic consortium fueled by ambition, innovation, and global collaboration. This international network includes leading schools of public health, medicine, veterinary sciences, environmental sciences, and pathobiology, all committed to enhancing the quality of the One Health Workforce in Africa. The consortium’s reach currently extends across multiple African nations and Universities, including Cameroon, with Université des Montagnes, University of Buea, and University of Ngaoundéré; DR Congo, with University of Kinshasa and University of Lubumbashi; Ethiopia, with Jimma University, University of Addis Ababa, Aksum University, Assosa University, Bule Hora University, Jigjiga University, Samara University, Wallo University, University of Gonder, and Mekelle University; Kenya, with University of Nairobi and Moi University; Rwanda, with University of Rwanda and University of Global Health Equity; Senegal, with Université Cheikh Anta Diop; Tanzania, with Muhimbili University of Health & Allied Sciences and Sokoine University of Agriculture; Uganda, with Mbarara University of Science & Technology and Makerere University; Côte d’Ivoire, with Félix Houphouët-Boigny University; and Liberia, with University of Liberia.

In addition to these African institutions, AFROHUN partners with global entities, including the One Health Workforce-Next Generation (OHW-NG) Global Team that includes University of Califonia Davis (UC Davis), Columbia University, Ata Health Strategies, EcoHealth Alliance, University of Califonia Berkeley (UC Berkeley), University of Califonia Irvine (UC Irvine), and University of New Mexico as part of the OHW-NG Global Consortium. The network also collaborates with the Southeast Asia One Health University Network (SEAOHUN), all of which have dedicated over 15 years to building a sustainable and resilient Global One Health Workforce in Africa and beyond. The support and expertise from these global partners have been crucial in shaping an AFROHUN One Health Academy that is not only Pan-African in scope but also global in its reach and impact. AFROHUN One Health Academy is prepared to make a lasting difference. Founded on the recognition that challenges such as global health security, climate change, ecosystem health, and disaster management are interconnected and systemic. The Academy offers programs that blend cross-border scientific excellence with practical application. This ensures our graduates are equipped to address global and inter-African issues directly.
